Since a young age I have had a passion for plants and horticulture. As I grew so did this passion and in went on to study Horticulture, Landscape and Sportsturf Management in University College Dublin. In September 2013 I started a part time masters in journalism and media communication in Griffith College Dublin.
A passion for writing was reignited during my time at UCD and I started a journey to document plants through words and also to share my adventures in horticulture. In 2011, I started my own blog, Beyond the Wild Garden, which focuses on my love for plants and nature. My blog has led to opportunities blogging for Powerscourt Estate and Countrylife. In 2012 as part of my undergraduate degree, I under took an internship with Mediateam Ltd. During my time at Mediateam, I worked on both print and online media for The Irish Garden magazine and Shelflife magazine. During my time at the company I was involved with projects for Growtrade and Gardens Open. From August 2013 until December 2013 I worked for ShelfLife Magazine as a Staff Journalist. My role involved the creation of unique and exciting editorial for both online and print media. It also involved assisting in the editing of print material. Currently Deputy Editor of the University Observer. I am open to all new opportunities to write and collaborate on projects in all areas of journalism. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss a potential project. |
